Most errors are resolved by running Genetrix as an
Administrator. For Windows 7 or Windows Vista users,
right click the application file or shortcut and select "Run as administrator."
If you are
receiving error messages while trying to install or run Genetrix
for the first time, please send us those error messages in an email along with a description of your operating system (Windows 7/Vista/XP/2008 Server/2003 Server)
and service packs, whether your system is 32-bit or 64-bit, if you are using a PC or Mac, and whether the following program is installed on your computer,
Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86) or
(x64). To determine if this package is installed on your computer please navigate to your control panel and select
Add/Remove Programs.
If you have recently updated Genetrix and
the application/program no longer works, make sure the executable is copied to the same folder as the original installation. Also make sure the executable is renamed to the original name of the program. Run the program as an
Administrator. In Windows 7 or Windows Vista, to run Genetrix as an administrator, right click the executable and select "Run
as administrator." If you still have runtime errors, contact support.
If Genetrix is crashing unexpectedly or giving errors, please send us a detailed message including those errors so that we may attempt to duplicate them, and thus resolve them. We make every effort to resolve bugs that are brought to our attention.
