Epicenter Software is a scientific software development company focused on the creation of tools for the advancement of medicine and scientific research. Past software packages included Epilog and Genetic Analysis Package (GAP). Epilog was designed with the statistical analysis of epidemiological and clinical trials data in mind, while GAP was focused on managing pedigree data, and segregation and linkage analysis of family data. Epicenter Software continues in its tradition of creating biologically driven analysis tools, and is now focused on the development of a multipurpose analysis package called Genetrix.

Upon sequencing the DNA of humans and other model organisms in the 1990s and early part of this decade, the focus among scientists in the last few years has expanded. In addition to sequencing new organisms and mapping their genomes, scientists are continually trying to understand the relationship between these sequences and the various regions that make up DNA, as well as their eventual products. With the explosion of new technologies in the areas genomics, epigenomics and proteomics, data is being generated at rates far outpacing the ability to study and analyze them. As such, there continues to be a need for robust tools for analyzing, visualizing and managing this data. At Epicenter Software we attempt to fill part of this gap. As the need for high-throughput analysis increases and evolves, so too will Epicenter Software's endeavor in creating intuitive and highly functional software.
